Questions we answer
Every engagement starts with a decision, not a data request. These are the questions leadership, product and sales teams in industrial technology bring to us most often, usually when the answer will shape a budget, a launch or a sales plan.
Market
Sizing the opportunity
How big is this niche, really?
Syndicated reports rarely break out the application you sell into. Leadership needs a number it can defend.
What share do we hold, and where is the gap?
Where you are under-represented by region, industry or application, and how much headroom remains.
Customers
Seeing yourself as buyers do
How do customers see us against the alternatives?
Whether the reputation you believe you have matches how engineers and managers describe you.
What stops prospects from trying us?
The assumptions, switching costs and habits that keep non-users with their current tools.
Competition
Learning from every deal
Why did we lose that deal?
Sales notes give one side of the story. The buyer's account of what tipped the decision is often different.
Where are competitors heading?
The pricing, positioning and product moves most likely to show up in your next evaluation.
Sales
Focusing account effort
Which accounts are ready to expand?
Where usage, maturity and budget point to more seats, modules or sites.
Which accounts are at risk?
Early signs that a competitor is gaining ground, found before renewal is on the table.
What we do
Broad capabilities, one market. Every service is delivered with the same discipline: primary research with the people who buy, use and sell in industrial technology, cross-checked against desk and market data.
Market
Where to play
Niche market sizing
Bottom-up size, share and three-year outlook for applications that syndicated reports do not break out.
Customers
What buyers think
Buyer and customer research
How engineers and managers choose, use and budget for tools, from in-depth interviews and surveys.
Perception studies
How users and non-users see you against competitors, and which assumptions stand in the way of a trial.
Competition and sales
How to win
Competitor analysis
Positioning, pricing signals and product direction of the vendors you meet most often.
Win-loss analysis
Independent interviews with recent buyers on why deals were won or lost.
Account maturity analysis
Which accounts are ready to expand, which are at risk, and where sales effort will pay back.
Custom studies
Have a question that does not fit a box? Most of our work starts that way. We design each study around the decision you need to make.
Discuss a custom study →Primary research at the core of every answer.
Desk research tells you what has been published. Our answers come from the engineers, managers and buyers who make the decisions, and every finding states how confident we are in it.
